Mergers and Acquisitions: A Sound and Remix Lab

I'm Christina Dennaoui. M & A is chronicle of the beats I find as I find them. Simple as that.

Broken Social Scene, “7/4 Shoreline.” A Reunited BSS in 2009 playing one of my favorite songs.

Stream of Consciousness #1: In Which I Attempt Track Flow with Text

I didn’t care much for “Yellow House” when it first came out, but I’m loving Veckatimest, esp. “Ready, Able” (with the Brooklyn Academy of Music). “Colorado” off Yellow House with BAM is quite lovely as well. My recent addiction to Veckatimest is causing me to lament the fact that I was not able to see Grizzly Bear perform “Service Bell” with Feist. And because I’ve been into GB lately, I’ve discovered great covers of their stuff like CSS’s version of “knife”. After listening to CSS’s cover of “Knife,” I started exploring some of their remixes like this one of a Kings of Leon song. Eventually I ended up at this remix of Au Revoir Simone’s “Shadows”, Fenech-Soler’s “The Cult of Romance”, and Loretta Lynn’s “Portland, Or”.
